Riding Lessons

An advance of four payments is required ($152.00). Twelve hour advance rescheduling notice is required or students will be charged for missed lesson. If rescheduling in not an option, the indoor barn area will be used for individual lessons in inclement weather. Weather closings will be posted on the website. All students are responsible for grooming, tacking, cooling out and untacking their assigned mount as well as putting away their tack and grooming boxes.

An assistant will be with every student for grooming, tacking, untacking and the actual riding lesson until they are competent to perform independently. All students must purchase their own riding helmet after the eight riding lesson (loans from the barn will be available for use until then). Protective head gear must be worn when mounted at all times.

All lessons are private initially. We want our students to receive concentrated instruction to insure the development of a secure, effective position and a vital understanding about the equine mind, senses, etc before entereing a simi private or group atmosphere.

Students are matched with a suitable pony or horse that they can develop a bond and partnership with. Mounts will only be changed when students are physically, mentally and emotionally ready. All equines are owned by BVF and are not for sale. Our equine family remains constant recognizing the emotional bond students make with their partner.
